Online Bible Tutorial on Creating Modules

Please read before you begin..

Decide what you want to do -

  • topic - short article
  • book - be prepared for a lot of work!
  • note set - a commentary
  • Bible
  • dictionary
  • Library index for the program

The material you use should be in public domain, that is not copyright. Any text that is older than 75 years may safely be assumed to be public domain in North America. Before beginning a project you should contact the author and ask for permission to use his work.

Tools you will need

Be sure you are using the latest program. Check our web site at http://www.onlinebible.net for the latest release.

A file manager program that will let you work with files. If you use Windows© Explorer be sure that you have un-checked "Hide File Extensions".
Our favourite program is "Total Commander" (Download from http://www.ghisler.com).

Create a new directory on your hard drive to store all of your work. You may want to simply name it "Work" or "MyWork".

A text editor. Text must be in plain text format. If you are using Word save as "text only with line breaks". You could use Windows© NotePad if your material is not too large.

Download our sample files and copy into the work directory. We will be using them as we work through the tutorials.
