Online Bible Tutorial - How to Create Modules

Step 8 - Working with the editor

Open the topic by going to "File > Open > Book/Topic". Double click on the first line in the index.

The first topic will open. Right click with the mouse to open the popup menu shown below. Select "Edit" from the menu to open the editor. Hint: Pressing the hotkey "e" will also open the editor.

Right click on the first line and select "Auto Format" from the popup menu. This feature will automatically wrap the lines, format any Bible passages and check for errors.

You should get the error message shown below if you are using the material we supplied. This message indicates that a double quote mark is missing. Look in the second paragraph for the line - are told, 'Then drew near.- single quote used. Change it to - are told, "Then drew near - double quote.

Other Errors

Topic 1

  • "sheep" belong - they belong   change to "sheep" belong--they belong
  • God - the entrances   change to  God--the entrances

Topic 2

  • living." (vv.11, 12)   change to living." (vv. 11, 12) note space added between vv.11.
  • it - they   change to  it--they
  • feeling, exercised   change to  feeling, exercised space added between words.

Topic 3

There are other mistakes in the text which will also have to be corrected. We find the best way is to use the hotkeys in the following order after correcting -

  • Press CTRL+Home to move the cursor to the top.
  • Press CTRL+K to do a check for other errors. If the cursor ends at the bottom of the screen with no error messages displaying the text is clean.
  • You may want to press CTRL+Home and then do a final CTRL+Q to re-format any changes that may have been made when the corrections were done.

When finished with the corrections right click again to open the popup menu and select "Save/Exit" or use the hotkey combination CTRL+Z.

Press the right arrow key to move to the next topic and open the editor to make the corrections. After all the errors have been fixed move on to the next step in which we will compile the material.
